Many of our clients have received forms in the mail titled “2013 – Annual Corporate Records Form”. After you fill out the form, you are supposed to mail in a check for $125.00 payable to Corporate Records Service. This is a SCAM and is not from the State of Michigan! Only in very fine print does it say that this is not from a government agency. The form looks very official and replicates the form that you do need to fill out with a check each year for the State of Michigan. Please see the State of Michigan website letting everyone know about these misleading notices.
Keep an eye out for these forms and if you ever receive anything in the mail that you are not sure if it is legit or not, please give us a call so we can advise you on if it is an official government letter.
